Canberra Soto Zen Group

Canberra Soto Zen group holds weekly ‘Zanzenkai’ services.

The Zanzenkai service includes two periods of zazen (seated meditation), kinhin (walking meditation), a tea ceremony, chanting and reciting of Buddhist sutras (in Japanese and in English), and a reading from Zen sources.

Other activities are planned linked to Soto Zen practice: one day workshops, short retreats, talks and discussions by teachers in the Zen tradition.  Membership of the group is desirable but everyone is welcome!

Zanzenkai services are held at 1 Tilden Place, Cook, on Sundays at 7:30-9:30 am and Thursdays at 6:30-8:00pm.

If you come for the first time, please arrive 15 minutes beforehand for a brief introduction.
