Winter Sesshin at Jizoan is : Saturday July 11 - Tuesday July 14.
We are now open to booking if you have already established a practice at the temple. If you have never been here before you will need to introduce yourself and develop some sitting time before registering for Sesshin. It is quite intense so you will first need to prepare yourself, whilst also being considerate and respectful of others who are working hard during the Sesshin.
Sesshin is an opportunity to delve deeper into one's self, away from the distractions of the workaday world. It involves four days of silent intensive. There will be a lot of zazen broken by kinhin.
You will have the opportunity to deepen your koan practice if you have already started here at the temple in (face-to-face interviews) with Mujyo Roshi, our teacher.
Meals are provided in the tradition of shojin ryori (vegan), which is Zen mountain-style vegan food.
Please register your sincere intention and we'll send you more details. We cannot take last minute arrivals, everyone must have permission from the Roshi to join in advance.
