An Australian Zen Council

We beileve there should be an Australian Zen Council. In principle a number of other groups in Australia agree with this also.

A Council might take the form of creating a universal dialogue between Zen Groups, Temples, and Centres in Australia. This might create a forum for discussion of social importance in Australia. Of course some members might have no interest in such and a Council in Australia should respect members rights and autonomy.

Authorization and lineage are of course matters for respective traditions and an Australian Council should consider that outside of it parameters. A council might however represent to government the views of the Zen tradition when reqired.

A Council might help members and others hold a dialogue on such things as Ethical Social Activism, Palative standards, Social work, etc.
